Vicki Frederick of Dubuque, IA recently got recruited into our service department at our Manchester store in Iowa. While still fresh on the job, I thought it’d be nice for everyone to get to know her a little better.
What do you do here at Runde’s?
I’m the service manager
How long have you been in the position?
It’s been three weeks now.
How are you liking it so far?
I like it quite a bit.
Did you have previous experience?
Oh yes, I’ve been around the same type of field for 15 years.
What does your job entail?
Mainly I get to yell at these service guys all day.
How is it working with all of those service guys?
They are all really nice to work with. I feel very relaxed here.
Are you from the area?
I’m from Dubuque, it’s about a 40 minute commute.
Fresh into the job, what would you say you are liking the most?
It’s a lot different from where I worked before.
What do you like to do around the Dubuque area?
I like to watch stock car and drag races. I go to Juliette in July and go to Nascar in Michigan every year.
Do you have kids?
Yep, I have four.
Any pets?
Nope, just three grandkids.
Do you consider them pets?
Um…. No *laughs*
Do you guys like to go out on trips as a family?
All of my family is into racing so we all go up to Michigan to camp and go to the races.
Have a favorite movie?
My favorite would probably be Grease.
How bout the sequel?
Nope, just the original.
Whatcha think of … GREASE LIGHTNING!
Oh, I love that car – it’s awesome.
Do you have a favorite tear-jerker movie?
The Notebook.
Yea, that one was quite the emotional ride.
What is your dream car?
A Monte Carlo SS.
What’s one invention you can’t live without?
I’d probably say the cellphone.
If you were to win the lottery, what would you do with the money?
I’d probably pay off all of my bills and give some to my kids. I’d definitely still work though. I’ve been working since I was 15 – it drives me crazy if I’m not working, I wouldn’t know what to do with myself.
Anything you’d like to add?
I appreciate the single radio station. There were four or five stations going on at the same time in a previous job of mine. One would be on rock, one would be talk-show, another would be county… it was just a big headache.
Well, you can consider it one of your benefits! Thank you for taking the time out to do an interview with me and welcome to the team!
